Watusi Sect "Lost Member" Found!
After over 30 years The Watusi Sect are back with a new album and a comprehensively refreshed lineup.
Originally formed in 1977 in Amstelveen, Netherlands, The Watusi Sect achieved critical acclaim with their second single "What's The Use?". After extensive European touring in 1977–1978 they recorded their well received debut album "Coterie".
Their second long player "The Chinese Burns" had moderate commercial success in Europe and Canada in 1979 and then the band split due to the mysterious disappearence of mainman, known only as "The Barron", who famously "popped to the shops to buy some cigarettes" and never came back.
Fast-forward to 2008 and The Barron is emphatically back (no public explanation for his absence has been forthcoming), alongside new members Jack Minka, Will Halse, Tobi Nairobi, and the Watusi Floosies - Pushka Lomax and Trixi Von Vauxhall.
Their collective musical prowess has been widely lauded alongside their energetic and occasionally baffling live shows. They really do have to be seen to be believed!
"Taking Oral Hygiene Seriously", their long awaited return to the scene, will be released on in Europe on Monday September the 7th.
